Mike Napoli’s injury and who is Luis Martinez

After Mike Napoli’s injury the Rangers decided to call up catcher Luis Martinez and optioned Yoshinori Tateyama to Round Rock.

Napoli’s injury came against Seattle when he bruised the inside of his right knee. He is listed as day-to-day but will not be able to return until the end of August.

Luis Martinez is coming from Round Rock where he was hitting .262 with 2 home runs and 17 RBI’s in 50 games. Martinez debut was with the Padre’s in 2011 where he batted .203 with 1 home run. He was brought here in a trade for RHP Ryan Kelly. He went 0-3 in his first start.
